On 10th, April 2012 at Ngoma District is a meeting which has the main objective to Discuss on the Rural Development Plan around Lake Sake, where it is Phase II of Diagnosis. Participants of this meeting include Experts from CDCS head by Giovana Beltrao, Mr MUPENZI George, The Mayor a.i of Ngoma District, MUZUNGU Gerald, District Executive Secretary and other staffs from District Land Office. In the discussion, they describe briefly the introduction of second phase of the project, they convened missing information on the first phase of inspection and District promised the consultants to provide the DDP of District and all facilities to get the historical background of the area.
On March 15, 2012 in Ngoma District multipurpose hall was held a graduation ceremony of 95 people whose 35 male and 60 female who completed the ReachUp! trainning offered by Digital Opportunity Trust ( DOT Rwanda). Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT), an international NGO, is an innovator in enabling people to access and apply information and communications technologies (ICT) to create educational, economic and entrepreneurial opportunities. DOT transforms and supports young women and men as they become leaders of economic and educational change in their societies.  - NGOMA LOCAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
Wednesday 07th, March 2012, in Ngoma District, in the small meeting room was a meeting of District Council,In the opening, the Chair Man of District Council Mr RWAMURANGWA Stephen thanks all presented Councilors and wish to them the good meeting. The main issue of this Meeting is to confirm the Final Report of Local Development Plan of Ngoma.
The elaboration of this Local Development Plan is more than a simple legal formality or administrative obligation said by BEICO sarl representatives, the company designed the local Development Plan. The LDP has to become a tool of reference to insure that the development and the growth of the future town is harmonious, cost effective, sustainable and respects the aspirations and concerns of the local stakeholders and citizens. Thus, it allows to anticipate the nature and the intensity of the actions to be taken by the authorities in regard with the objectives to attain and the agreed principes. This Development covers the area of 8,000 ha with 30 ha for Construction.
Friday 09th March 2012 at Ngoma District Conference Hall held a meeting assembled NMNF(Nile Media Network Forum), NBDF (Nile Basin Discourse Forum), Technical adviser of Ministry of Infrastructure, The Director of Planning and Management Unity of Rusumo Fall Project, The Mayors of Ngoma and Kirehe Districts, The Executive Secretaries of the sectors which will be affected after construction of Rusumo Hydropower Plant, The representative of the Farmers , This meeting chaired by Honorable Governor of Eastern Province Odette UWAMARIYA.
After the presentation of Chair Man of NMNF Mr Edwin MUSONI, Followed by the presentation of The chair man of NBDF Mr John GAKUMBA and the Director of Planning and Management of Rusumo Hydropower Project some conclusion had been taken.The PMU Director said that at the end of this month the Final report will be finalized and submitted to the Different Ministries. The Honorable Governor of Eastern Province Odette UWAMARIYA said the participant attended the meeting must play major roles to give information to the population of rural areas about this project.
The construction of the plant will be done after compensation of the properties which will be affected during the project.The meeting of the farmers at grass root level should be done by the coordination committees.
Briefly, The Mayors of Ngoma and Kirehe District appreciate the project because it will help all those districts to get job for jobless people more than 4 000, Increase Electric Power in Rural Areas etc.......But The comparative advantage should be analyzed Before.
Thursday 23rd, February 2012, in Ngoma District was a meeting organized by MIJEPROF represented by Major BATAMURIZA Magritte, in collaboration with District; the main objective of this meeting is to explain the United Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security and the preparation of Women’s day, The 8th, March 2012. The meeting has opened and closed by Vice/Mayor in charge of Finance and Economic Development in Ngoma District. The participants of this meeting were National Women Council, National Youth Council, District Council, Civil Society and others representatives.
Ngoma–Reverend Emmanuel Ntazinda was over the weekend consecrated as the Anglican Church Bishop of Kibungo Diocese.
Ntazinda becomes the fourth bishop of the diocese, replacing Bishop Josias Sendegeya, who retired. He has been serving as a Secretary at the same diocese in charge of its development.
Addressing hundreds of faithful after his consecration, the beaming clergyman pledged to work towards the general development of the province. Ntazinda said he intends to embark on developmental projects, by sensitizing Christians to form cooperatives.
The Minister of Local Government James Musoni, who attended the the ceremony, reiterated the need for the church to support the government’s development programs.
Today 29th January 2012 in Ngoma District there was ceremony of celebration for the first place in National Examination 2011.
The First school is “Les Gazelles Primary School”. Les Gazelles Primary School is located in Eastern Province, Ngoma District, Kibungo Sector, Karenge Cell. The School has started 2007 as Private school of APAPECE (Association des Parents Adventistes pour la Promotion de l’Education Complète de l’enfant) .It has started with Nursery and Primary from P1 to P3 with 120 pupils. The first candidates of P6 hasve passed National Examination 2010 and Les Gazelles was in 10 best schools (Third One).
Now, Les Gazelles Primary Schools in 2011 is the First one in the whole Country. All candidates are in division I.
In this celemony, Visitor of Honor was the Mayor of Ngoma; In his speech, He thanks the members of APAPECE for well managing the schools and he thanks the Teachers for working hard and promoting education of quality. The different visitors are presents in this ceremony: Representative of Adventist Church in Eastern Province, In Charge of Good governance, In Charge of Education, Members of APAPECE, PARENTS and Pupils.
This Saturday 28th/01/2012 in Ngoma District during community work (Umuganda), in Rukumberi sector, Rubona cell, Rugenda Village, together with the Staff of MINISANTE Dr Ferdinand BIKORIMANA, Vice Mayor in charge of Health and Social Protection in Ngoma District Ms Providance KIRENGA,The staff of IRC, and RAB (Rwanda Agriculture Board), and the population of this Sector.
The Mayor of Ngoma District François NIYOTWAGIRA Officially opened the activity of construction Kitchen garden (Akarima k’Igikoni), to fight against malnutrition, they also tried to teach (learn by doing) the participant how to prepare the food contained more nutrients to feed the children.
Concerning Mobilization of the population to drink milk, Ngoma District gave 50 litters of milk to the the Children and RAB gave 70 litters and this activity was very interesting.
Today 18th January 2012 Economic commission in Parliament (Umutwe w’Abadepite) visited Cooperatives in Ngoma District and discussed with cooperatives members about the main activities and challenges they they face during the implementation. Read more.
On Sunday 11th/12/2011 this Visit with the Province Staff, Army and Police Commanders in Eastern Province, District Authorities did a Field Visit at Nyamugali Secondary School where the Construction of 6 rooms have been constructed in the Program of 12 Year Basic Education, They visited again Mugesera sector where the Farmers have consolidated the land and growing the Pineapple. 9, 856 health insurance paidFriday, 18th November 2011, in Ngoma District is a ceremony for health insurance payment for 9,856 peoples from vulnerable families. The cost of activity about 30,000,000Rfr. This activity had been done in partnership of Ngoma District and COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL organization and District thanks a lot this organization for that service.
Environment protection project Launching
Friday, 18th November 2011, Ngoma District Launch environment protection project in Rurenge Sector. This project will consist of planting trees that will closing with other grows, those trees will cover the area of 593 ha
This project will be implemented in parternership with Wallonie province through “Wallonne de l’Air et du Climat ” agency in its program Fast Start Wallonie 2010. The project will take 3 years and 250,000€ (207 500 000 Rfr) will be used to be finished. All activities will be done by population of that region using HIMO program.
After sensitization of fishermen in Lake SAKE, MUGESERA and BIRIRA in Ngoma for making the Cooperative, in charge of fish farming and fish culture in collaboration of Ngoma District authorities request them to use the fish net size of 4 and 5 inches of mesh size. Read More
On 12/10/2011, The VTC SAKE, in Sake Sector Ngoma District has been visited by the German. This Delegation were composed by Two Ministers Healthy and Local Government, two members of Parliament, Mayors and others.
